Accumulator betting explained: how win bonuses actually pay
Accas are the most popular bet in Zambia. Here is how the odds multiply, what the win bonus adds, and the mistakes that cost people money.

An accumulator combines several bets into one. Every leg must win. In return the odds multiply, which is why a K5 stake can return hundreds.
The maths
Odds of 1.80, 1.60 and 2.00 multiply to 5.76. A K10 stake returns K57.60. Add a fourth leg at 1.50 and it becomes 8.64.
What the win bonus adds
betPawa, SportyBet and MSport add a percentage on top of winning accas. At betPawa a 10-leg winner gets a bonus on the winnings; the percentage rises with every extra leg. That bonus is why Zambian punters build long slips.
The mistakes
- Too many legs. A 20-leg acca at 1.20 each has odds of about 38, but the chance of every leg landing is tiny.
- Ignoring minimum odds. Legs below the bonus minimum do not count.
- Cashing out. Cashed-out accas lose the bonus.
A sensible approach
Three to five legs of genuine bankers, placed where the win bonus applies. Keep the stake small and treat it as entertainment.
